TGL Championship Preview: Key Matchup Insights
The TGL SoFi Cup finals kick off with exciting matchups. Los Angeles Golf Club faces off against Jupiter Links Golf in a thrilling best-of-three series.

The NCAA tournament may have already delivered its share of surprises, but the TGL's SoFi Cup finals, beginning Monday night, promise to bring even more excitement with their best-of-three format.
In last week's semifinals, the fourth-seeded Jupiter Links Golf Club shocked the top-seeded Boston Common Golf with a decisive 9-5 victory, eliminating reigning Masters champion Rory McIlroy from contention.
Meanwhile, the second-seeded Los Angeles Golf Club mounted an impressive comeback, overcoming a 4-1 deficit against the defending SoFi Cup champions, Atlanta Drive Golf Club, to win their semifinal match 6-4.
Justin Rose, a standout for LA Golf Club, praised his team's quality and resilience, stating, "It shows the quality that we have as a team and the trust in our abilities to succeed over time."
Jupiter Links Golf Club faced struggles in the inaugural TGL season in 2025, finishing with a record of 1-4. Injured golfer Tiger Woods humorously referred to them as the "Bad News Bears" due to their misfortunes on the course.
Woods reflected on the team's past challenges, saying, "We had some weird stuff happen last year, but now the Bad News Bears can play."
The championship matchup features notable players from both teams. Los Angeles Golf Club's roster includes Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, and Sahith Theegala, while Jupiter Links Golf Club boasts Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner.
In their previous regular-season matchup on January 20, LA Golf Club defeated Jupiter Links 8-4, with LA taking an early lead in triples. Jupiter Links mounted a comeback but ultimately fell short.
This season, Jupiter Links has excelled in singles matches, earning a league-high 16 points, and is recognized for its strong putting, with a 72.7% success rate on attempts within 10 feet. In contrast, LA Golf Club has shown greater strength in triples, winning 18 holes for a total of 20 points, and averaging an impressive 317.9 yards off the tee.
The championship will feature various challenging holes. For example, the par 3 seventh hole, "On the Rocks," is favored by Kim, who recorded the second ace in TGL history there. The eighth hole, "Stinger," named after Woods, poses a unique challenge requiring low drives to avoid natural hazards.
Match 1 is set for Monday at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and ESPN+. Match 2 will follow on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, with a potential Match 3 later that evening at 9 p.m. ET, if necessary.
